The Sound Analysis Program has been contributed by Ofer Tchernichovski at Rockefeller
University and Partha Mitra at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies. These
programs only run on Windows.
Before you install the software please e-mail Ofer Tchernichovski and provide: name, institution and intended use. It is possible that a more recent version of the software can be found at Dr. Tchnernichovski's lab site.
The materials currently available here include:
- A User Manual for the Sound Analysis 2 program in PDF format.
- The setup files for the program. Currently this is version 3 in beta form. A full version 3 will be available in mid 2003. After unzipping this file into a temporary directory on Windows, you need to run setup.exe.
- Sample files for the lessons in the User Manual.
These should be extracted to a new folder caled c:\Sound Analysis which is
the default folder for the data files of the software.
- Zebra finch song files to accompany a publication in Science (about 1GB at this stage)
